Van was one of the best men I have ever known. I worked for him and Rose for nine years. I have thought of him fondly so many times since. He was the most wonderful, honest, devout men I have ever known and I loved him dearly. I was so surprised and saddened to hear of Louann also. My deepest regards to Rose and Patti. May God bless and keep all of you.

Although I only met Van one time several years ago, my brother had worked with him for many years and has always thought very highly of him. Please accept our sincere condolences.
May he rest in peace.

Mrs. Helmick and Patti, I am so sorry for your loss, but grateful that he didn't suffer long. I know it is a huge loss and pray that God will hold you close during this time of grief.

I am remembering all the teasing between my dad, Paul, and Van. The time he sent mom the song "Short people have no reason to live." She didn't take it well, but we all thought it was hugely funny coming from another "short" person. Dad had a lot of fun plotting his practical jokes, but I always thought Van got the last word. Thank you for the memories of my own father.
Love,
Debbie

Mrs. Helmick and Patti, I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Helmick's passing. You were such a good friend to my parents and always opened your home to us "kids".
