Robert J. De-Rosa, age 77 passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was a resident of Rockport for the past 20 years and a former resident of Sudbury, MA. Robert was born in Boston, MA, on April 29th, 1938, the son of the late Salvatore DeRosa and Adeline (Tomaselo) DeRosa. He spent his childhood years in Medford, Massachusetts. Graduating from Medford High School in 1955, he earned both a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University. Robert went on to become a leading design engineer at Raytheon Company, retiring with over 50 years of experience and many awards. He was instrumental in the development of the Patriot Missile Defense System. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren on his boat. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time at his home on the beach in Rockport, Massachusetts with his family. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sylvia H. (Swan-son) De-Rosa and his 4 children, Robert Jr. and his wife Ellen of Salem, NH; Lynda and her husband Don Voghel of Concord, MA; Lisa DeRosa of Danvers, MA; Lorna and her husband Michael Rousseau of Marlborough, MA; his brother, Joseph DeRosa of Bedford, MA; 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours were Saturday, Nov. 7th from 9:00-10:00 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St. Salem, NH. The Funeral Service was celebrated Saturday at 11:00 AM at Triumphant Cross Church, 171 Zion Hill Rd. Salem, NH 03079. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery. DeRosa family - I have so many memories of Mr. DeRosa from when I was young. He was a true and loving family man and always welcomed me into his home. He will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry for your loss, Bob was always such a generous and kind man. I've been thinking about my childhood with all of you spent up at Lake Winnipesaukee.
