Dear family of Prof. Beinecke, I was just looking him up to get his name (correctly) to make a gift to Suffolk in his honor and saw this obituary. Now my gift is in his memory. I'm so sorry for your loss. I can only tell you that he was my first professor in graduate school. I was anxious and feeling I wasn't good enough or smart enough to be in the program. From day 1 he made me feel welcomed, smart and talented. I never looked back. I'm very sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful teacher. Kathryn (MPA class of 1999)

I campaigned with Rick, mostly for the Third Middlesex Democrats, for decades. Always smiling, smart as they come, amicable, and energetic. I am so sorry to hear of his early loss. A bright star for us to look up to. Prayers to his family. Kelly Durkee-Erwin Waltham

To the Beinecke Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
