Dear Jean, John, and Family,

So sorry to lose our dear David. I first met David freshman year at Oberlin, where I also remember you, John. He was always so sweet and friendly to everyone, and found humor in so much. He kept in good touch over the years, being a regular sender of Christmas cards, always with a note, and he occasionally called. We even saw each other a few times after college, the most recent time being a memorable visit with him and Jean to the botanical garden in Hilo, Hawaii, during their honeymoon. Jean, I just tried to call you to see how you are doing, and to let you know how much I know you enriched David's life. (Apparently the number I had for you was not right.) I hope you are well. I will look for you on Facebook. If you want to come back to Hawaii again, let me know!

My condolences to all the family.

I knew David from the Beginning Experience team. He was a kind and gentle man with a smile for everyone. I am glad to know that he found happiness again. My sympathies to all and prayers that your memories will bring you peace.

I knew David from his times when we worked together onstage and back stage with the Sudbury Savoyards. One time in stands out in my mind. I was Asst. Director for our productions, whose name shall not be mentioned. Not all of our rehearsals always went smoothly. David came up to me after one particularly stressful choral rehearsal and told me that he appreciated the efforts we were making to teach the chorus to sing and dance and that he, in particular, felt he had learned a great deal about musical theater through our working together. I think David saw my stress and knew instinctively what to say to make a person feel better. He was that kind of guy!
