I'm just learning of Skip's passing now (January 2018). Even so, I wish to express my very belated condolences and second the comments about Skip Warren's sincerity, humor, and compassion. I knew Skip through work (FEMA/National Weather Service partnership) but considered him as a friend. FEMA, like my agency, sometimes exhibits a scent of pretentiousness. But not Skip. He was unpretentious and sincerely desired to do what he could for others in need, and in the role of a FEMA Administrator (Deputy Director), do what he could to ensure public safety - not because it would look good for the agency but because it was the right thing to do. Skip was a true professional and a true friend. Bob

Dear Diane, Sons, Grandchildren,
You are in our thoughts and prayers today. This photo of Skip" is how I will always remember him. He always had that gentle smile and 'put up' with all of the many cousins at the yearly Piscitelli Reunions . We missed you this year -but you were with us in spirit as you'll always be . Your beloved family will keep your spirit alive. God bless you, Diane. I love you. Cousin, Theresa and all the Bucci Bunch. Hopefully, we'll see you at the Marathon.

I am sorry to learn of Skip's passing.
I have known Skip since high school years, had shared a few scotches and always enjoyed seeing Skip. He will be missed.
Sincerely, Paul Conlin

There was no better supporter and friend of the common man and those in need than "Skip" Warren. He could be depended upon to make sure that those who were in distress were taken care of and those in crises were cared for. He served his community, state and nation with distinction and most of all he was a good friend.

I will miss his humor an his calm way of trying to make me calm down and face each real disaster with clear and well thought our resolution.

He was more than an deputy he was a leader in the world of emergency management; respected by all and beloved by those who had the opportunity to serve and work with him. Most of all. he kept us all well dressed as he knew how to get and keep our moral high by wearing good gear on the road.

Skip you will be well missed by those of us who revere and respect service on behalf of the public especially those in need.

Thank you Warren family for sharing him with us and the world.

Rest in Peace "Skip".

Louis A. Elisa,
FEMA Region 1 Director
U.S. Representative to
NATO 1994-2001
