My sincerest condolences to Scott's family. I just learned of Scott's passing in the Ithaca College View that arrived in today's mail. Scott and I worked together for Campus Safety and he went by the nickname"Skip" back then. I remember Scott as a caring, compassionate and dependable friend and co-worker. He was devoted to his studies in the Park School of Communications, and I was thrilled when he landed his position at ESPN. Many years later, I asked Scott if he would be willing to talk with my friend's daughter who was considering a major in communications and was interested in attending IC. Scott readily reached out to share his wisdom which propelled her to a successful education at IC and later a career in communications. I regret having lost touch with Scott. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Our family prayers are with each of the Scott Donaldson family members now and will be for many many days to come. This has been near and dear to my heart Kim, since we first met around Easter, and since my husband has OM.

My condolences to friends and family

To the family of Scott Donaldson:

I am very sorry to hear that Scott has died. My condolences to his family and friends.

The first time I met Scott he was a ninth grader. He was very enthusiastic about technology and working as a student assistant in the Needham High School Media Department (as it was known then) durning his study periods.

Scott was a very dependable person. If I gave a job to him, he would do it right. Soon, Scott started to do all kinds of productive things without being asked. After a few years, his leadership skills blossomed. Scott liked to show students and staff how to use technology. People liked Scott and responded positively to his help.

Television production was his passion as a high school student. Scott had the good fortune of being at Needham High School when the school received a new studio complete with all new equipment. He produced many shows and helped many students learn how to use the equipment.

Years after his graduation, while he was working in Connecticut, I remember the day Scott came to visit with news of his cancer. He was about to have a very serious operation to have his immune system rebuilt. He faced this very serious challenge with courage, grace, and even humor.

I have enclosed a few photos of Scott in the Needham High School Media Center working. Sorry, I do not remember the second student in the picture.

It was my privilege to know, teach, learn, and work with Scott. He will not be forgotten.

Sincerely,
James Modena
