My thoughts and prayers are with Chris' family. I studied music with Chris in Denver. I left my first lesson on a huge high, when Chris told me I was the best student that has taken a lesson with him. Chris helped me do a recording for my first cruise ship job. We recorded Rhapsody in Blue about 30 times until we both felt that we had a quality recording. Another Chris quote that I will never forget is, "Get the job and then worry if you can handle it." He had a wonderful sense of humor, fun to hang out with, and easy to work with. He was well liked in the music community in Denver and treated everyone as a friend. I lost contact with Chris many years ago and wish I could have studied with him longer. The world has lost a one of the great woodwind specialists and even a better person.

So sorry to hear the passing of Chris Miele. I was a co-worker of his when we worked at BMI in the late 1980's. My sympathies to his wife and family. May he rest in peace.

I am so sorry to read this news. I was wondering where Chris was and did a search and found his obituary. I worked as a singer with Sparky in a band at Lombardos back in the late 1980s and when I moved to NYC Sparky introduced my to his son, Chris. He was the nicest guy and we remained friends for a long time. We had a lot in common both musicians and both working at performing rights organizations (he at BMI and me at SESAC). When he moved to Colorado I even saw him a few times on my travels there. We had lost touch these past years, he did find me and tell me of Sparky's passing. We promised to get together but that never happened. I am so sorry to hear this. He was a super sweet guy! And so very talented- taking after his Dad! My condolences to his wife and family. You left us all much too soon, but gave us so many happy memories. Thanks for being a special part of our lives.
