William Thomas (Pompei) D'Alessandro, 86, of Scituate, passed away on February 6, 2018. Beloved husband to the late Helen L. (Ross) D'Alessandro, the love of his life to whom he was married to for 55 years, he was the loving father to Richard D'Alessandro of Portland, Oregon, Catherine Martin and her husband Wayne of Marshfield; devoted grandfather to Alexandra and John Martin of Marshfield; son of the late Lucy (Lucia Mascitti) and John (Giovanni) D'Alessandro of Jamaica Plain, formerly of Ortona and Arielle, Italy; brother of the late Joanne M. Fischer of Illinois. He was a graduate of Medford High School, 1950, and Northeastern University, 1957, BS Business Administration. William served his country with honor in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and served during the Korean War as a Corporal in the Military Police Corps and received both the Good Conduct and National Defense Service Medals. Mr. D'alessandro was always generous to me. He was solid until the end. I am sure he and Mrs. D'alessandro are enjoying the splendors of heaven.

Papa- it's hard to put in words the impact you have had on my life. From when I was a young ballet dancer teaching you how tights and leotards work, through to almost the end of my college career, you have given me endless praise, support, and love. Thank you for being a role model, a teacher, and the best grandfather a girl could ever hope for. I miss you every day. I love you Papa.

What I will miss most is having someone I can call Dad, but I am eternally grateful that I could call you that for so long. I know you will be watching over me and still keeping me safe even though I am a grown woman. It's been an honor to call you my Dad.

Thank you for helping shape the man I am today and for always having my favorite type of ice cream every time I visited. I guess its time for me to start buying it for myself! Love and miss you
