It was my great fortune having Mr. Dawe as my sixth grade teacher at the Jones School, in 1962. Mr. Dawe was a great teacher. I don't recall him ever yelling at anyone. He treated all of his students with respect. I have read through some of the previous messages, and I did not see any references to Mr. Dawes love of singing. We were treated to his love of music, and I have some great memories of some of the many songs he taught our class. I also recall him mentioning his children Joe, and Bonnie. He was so proud of them.

As I write this message, I have a smile on my face, just remembering this incredible man. I would see him around town after I had grown up, and had my own family, and he always had time to speak with me. God Bless his family in this time of sorrow. I am sure they have many wonderful memories of this incredible person who touched so many lives over the years. He is the standard for any and all educators.

I came across his obit while looking for my dad's, who died last week.
Joe was my 6th grade teacher... We butted heads many times, but I've always remembered him as a guy I truly respected...
He helped shaped my life, and I'm honored to have known him...
Rest in peace, my superb teacher...

Mr. Dawe was a wonderful principal and friend. He was supportive, understanding, and always willing to listen and lend a hand. He made my first three years of teaching a wonderful experience and I will always remember his kind gentle ways with his staff and all of the students. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this sad time. He was a great man!
