Always a smile on his face and a cheerful, genuine hello. That was Charlie. My friendship with Charlie centered around victory field, as it did with most of the victory field kids, and Charlie was in the middle of things. It could have been a touch football game or a pickup hockey game on the flooded tennis courts....and if there was an argument about an out of bounds play or a puck that did not go in, you could bet charlie would be in the middle of it. Charlie was two grades ahead of me in school and I was a sophomore he took me under his wing and looked for me, especially when the hockey season started
. He would pick up don weeden and me and with Dom Santoro and would drive us to practices in his mother,s red and white olds convertible.that car was famous around town.
After some years passed and we each did our own things Charlie and I became neighbors when I moved back to my house behind victory. After a.. time Charlie even lived with me on a couple of occasions over a short period of time....he was still the same good person he always was and I am so thankful to be able to call him my friend
