I just came across this obituary and was very saddened by the loss of such a great man. Dr. Baghdady was so influential in my choices in life; he encouraged me to take a systems view towards everything and was instrumental in the beginning of my career as a systems engineer. It was this path that I believe led me to being a life learner, teacher , mentor and coach. After being taught by Dr. Baghdady my desire to understand how things worked was voracious. My condolences to family and friends for this great loss...I was one of the fortunate ones to have had a chance to learn from him...
I will keep his memory in my heart..

Grievingly,
Mark Barron

Dr. Baghdady was an intelligent, very friendly and compassionate man. He was Dean of Engineering while I was at Boston University. Both my wife and I used to have long conversations with him, often about the future and plans for family. We are sorry to hear of his passing.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. I know Dr. Baghdady through unusual personal and professional ties. Please, if you can, contact me, so that we may discuss some issues. I am very sorry to have missed my opportunity to speak with him further. I know how much he is respected and know personally the sense of loss that comes when, not only a dearly loved member of the family is gone, but also the sense of loss one feels for the generations of those who may never know the importance of his contributions. My thoughts are with you, even at this late date, having only now discovered the news of his death. I would really appreciate a few moments to speak to the family. Thank you.
