To Nicolle and Jim's children, my sincere condolences.

Jim was a colleague and friend for 5 decades. He was, without doubt, the nicest person in the world. Never a bad word about anyone, always a smile on his face (like the photo), and unbridled optimism.

When he visited several years ago, he talked about playing cello in the local orchestra's last row, and when the music was too hard, just stopping - but not discouraged. An earlier memory that comes to mind is canoeing the Saco River with chidren (two, perhaps) and camping overnight. We were besieged with flies and mosquitoes, but for Jim, it was all part of a wonderful experience.

There will never be another Jim.
