Rody, I am very saddened to learn of Dick's passing. He was my first mentor at MDS and I'll never forget what a great teacher and coworker he was. He was enjoyable to work with and was one of the reasons the MDS years were so special. David Tweedy

Dear Rody,
I was so sorry to read about Dick. He was such a genuinely sweet man. This must be a hard time for you, and your grandchildren.
Please know that I am thinking about you all. Fondly, Woody Tucker

Dear Denises,
I'm saddened this morning to read of Dick's death. Growing up a half block down from him in Grosse Pointe Park and being in the same classes with him at our neighborhood school, we shared membership in Cub Scout den and school yard softball team while
also spending much time together at his home frequently with his father's music in the background, digging a hole to China and a structure to contain it, and playing every game we could dream up often with his younger brothers, Doug and Jerry, involved as well. Though it was confined to these earlier years, friendship with Dick was one of the most important elements in my life.I have thought of him often through the years. He was everything personally from the get go what his splendid obituary paints him to be. Knowing him was a great privilege, and I pray for the peace of all in his family and for Dick's eternal happiness. I plan to see him again in the not too distant future. May God grant his blessings to all realizing what a great gift he gave to us and many others in Dick.
