COLUMBUS, Ohio — Florence Trunell "Trudy" Ward Hammersley, 87, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Thurs., Nov. 7, 2013.
Born January 9, 1926, in Tomahawk, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Moses "Moe C" and Belva Ward. Also preceding her in death was her beloved husband, Hi Hammersley.
Trudy was a former school teacher, homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to laugh, especially of personal stories over the years; love desserts and "sweets"; loved her two dogs; and loved her two sons and grandson.
Survivors include her two children, Ricky G. Hammersley of Columbus and William F. Hammersley of La Plata, Md., and her grandchild, Geoffrey M. Hammersley of La Plata.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Fri., Nov. 15 at Chafin Funeral Home with Elder Jimmy Maynard Officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
Chafin Funeral Home of Delbarton is in charge of arrangements.
