My mother just shared this shocking and tragic news with me. Doug was a good friend to me during my awkward adolescent years. I have many fond memories of us golfing, camping, bike riding.... My sincerest condolences to the family.

I grew up with Doug as my sister's year at Roseland and grew to be a true friend when bartending at Malibu. He and his dad were regular patrons but friends of mine. Both made sure I was safe at the end of my shift.
I will always remember Doug to grow to love Just the Two of Us (Will Smith version) when playing on the jukebox but most in my mind is Johnny Cash Folsom Prison Blues.
Doug- I think of you always, you are a special person, always in my thoughts. May you and your father rest in peace together.....
Love
Melanie xoxo

I remember Doug from grade school at Roseland in which he was in the same class as my sister- tough guy!! But really knew him years later when bar tending at Malibu on the corner of Cabana and Howard. Doug (Vic first!!) and I became friends and he always had my back - making sure I was safe leaving at the end of my shift.
So many memories but at the bar- he grew to love Will Smith's version of Just the Two of Us, and can't go through a shift without 20 times hearing Johnny Cash Folsom Prison Blues.
Miss you Doug, Luv ya and I know you are resting in peace.
Love
Melanie

I knew Doug from grade school, Roseland, but through my older sister, I truly met Doug (and his dad Vic-RIP) when I bartender at Malibu across the street from his family home. He is a giant teddy and always took care of me and had my back when some patrons weren't! I think about the family often, strangely since it's been years. He will always have a place in my heart and he was a dear friend.
Doug, I will always play "the Two of Us"- Will Smith version that drove you nuts until you finally liked it. But especially Johnny Cash "Folsom Prison Blues".
May you rest in peace my friend.
Love Melanie
