Irwin ANDREW Obituary
Peacefully in his 91st year at Hotel Dieu- Grace Hospital on Saturday, February 23, 2013. Beloved husband for 65 years to Jeanie (nee Mc Tear). Loving father to Dr. John Irwin Andrew (Pat), Robert Scott Andrew (Wendy), Linda Jean Spitse (John) and Carol Anne Andrew (Randy). Cherished grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his brothers Owen, Roger, Bill and Jim and by his sister Gwen. Irwin was born in Woodstock Ontario to the late William and Elsie Andrew. He served during WWII in the Italian Campaign. He was a lifetime ham radio operator (VE3AIH). After 37 years of service, he retired from Chrysler Canada. Irwin was a member of the Central Seniors Band, along with his wife Jeannie. His retirement years were spent enjoying life at the cottage in Oliphant Ontario. Friends may call at the Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre, 1969 Wyandotte St. E., on Tuesday February 26 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Windsor Veterans Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The Celebration of Irwin's life will be held in the chapel on Wednesday February 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Irwin may be made to the Wounded Warrior Fund of Canada or to the Salvation Army of Windsor.

We were so saddened to hear of the tragic passing of Uncle Irwin. We were away in Hawaii when Monica let us know. Had we been anywhere near, we most certainly have been with all of you during this most emotional of times. Aunt Jean, we send you a big hug, because this must be so very difficult for you, and all of your family.

Jean, I received an email from Mona that Irwin had passed away. So sorry for your loss, and love and prayers are going up for you and your family from me, Betty Hutcherson Ray (Daughter of Louis & Gracie Hutcherson). And please let your family know that every year I visit Gwendolyn and Elsie Andrews graves here in the US and place some flowers at each. When Jim (Glen) passed last year I went to Gwendolyn's grave during the time of his service in Hawaii, as I couldn't travel there.
