What a lovely person. I am blessed to have known such a thoughtful and giving heart. A great sense of humour, well, she always laughed at what ever I threw at her! And a wonderful, wonderful dance partner, even though she did try to lead a few times but then, again, she was a wee bit better than I, truth be told. Skilled at so many things--woe to anyone who dared challenge her to an office filing compatition!--she has lived an amazing and rich life. And, my, how she deeply, deeply loved her grandchildren. She glowed whenever she spoke of them. Yes, a lovely person.

Irene: she will be sorely missed. She loved her children and grandchildren. She spoke of them often.

I will always hold Irene in thought as a determined woman, ever ready to take on a challenge with grace, dignity and a sense of adventure. As a WPL coworker, Irene's quiet demeanour and organized expertise influenced all of us on a daily basis. As a partner in Taekwondo adventures, she continued to be a role model. With laughter, (sweat and bruises), she taught me that limits are only a belief to be conquered. Quite a lady, quite a legacy. She will be missed. Much love to Mike, Della, Vanessa and families.

Hi everyone. I feel very sad that we have lost Irene. I worked with her for years at the WPL. She was one of the best. Then, it was so great to touch base with her again at all of Neil's hockey games last year. She kept on like the energizer bunny. I will miss her wonderful presence in this world. My condolences to all the friends and family who loved her. I will not be able to make the park, but I will think peaceful pleasant thoughts of her all day. Best of wishes.from Dylan and all the Filby family...Ronnie Filby
