To the Panasiuk Family,

I apologize for the length of this post about your Mom and Grandma., But she was an important part part of my childhood.
I'm really sad to hear of Virginia's passing.
and Nicky, you probably don't remember me because I was just a little kid who was 10 or more years younger than you and who got dropped off and hung around Hydeway every day when my dad went to work and my Mom would pick me up before dark. But I remember you guys when you were young, Nicky about 15, Bobby before you were Pro but close to it. I was 5 years old when my Dad put a club in my hand, had a chipping green in the back yard and a putting green on the side lot that Dad cut with a Reo mower he built. and I spent a lot of summers at your Dad's place putting, driving the range and playing 9 holes for free because your Dad saw promise and I was just an little kid eager to help out. I remember sitting in the old clubhouse and Virg cooking hamburgers and fries for me because a growing boy and needed to eat. I remember standing on the edge of the ponds your Dad made while Nicky dove down to find lost golf balls and throw them up at me, and I remember Bobby on the practice range hitting plus 400 yard drives trying to hit the cow of the old family at East Pike Creek Road.
I won my 3rd flight in the EC Boys Golf Tourney 5 up and 4 to go at Dominion Golf Club when I was 12 years old because of your family's generosity and encouragement teaching me how to be a better golfer. I played for another 20 years , including college intramural and varsity and won more than my fair share of medals and chrome until back injuries forced an end to me swinging a club. I don't know your extended family, Grand children or such, but I'll be forever grateful for Knowing your Mom and Dad,and you guys, Bobby and Nicky. Your and your Mom and Dad helped to shape me as a young man and instill a regimen of commitment and dedication that I continue over 50 years later. I hope you are as proud of them as I am and as Thankful for them playing a significant part in my life. Memories pour through me whenever I pass by Hideaway. Your Mom was the best and your Dad was in 2nd place.
