William T. Ashmore Jr., 78, of Waynesville passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Quaker Heights Care Community, Waynesville.
He was a Vietnam Army veteran. He retired from the Warren County Highway Department after nearly 25 years of service. William was a member of the Waynesville American Legion and during his younger days he was a member of the Wilmington Rangers Motorcycle Club. He greatly enjoyed attending rodeos, traveling to Amish Country and beyond, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William T. Ashmore Sr. and Nellie Ashmore-Hosier; two brothers, Elmer and Burdett; and two sisters, Estella Satterthwaite and Doris McCollum.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie; three sons, William T. (Tami) Ashmore III, Steven L. Ashmore, and David D. (Angel) Ashmore; four grandchildren, William T. (Shena) Ashmore IV, Zachary Ray Ashmore, Kayla Ashmore, and Beverly Ashmore; one great-grandson, William T. Ashmore V; and one sister, Evelyn (Marion "Farmer") Whitacre.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 23 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery, Lebanon. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Monday at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
