To my Uncle Dante J Cardinale. Forever a hero in my heart. Wounded twice in a three period after landing on Normandy beach. Surviving battle after battle to free Europe. Shortly thereafte he was field promoted to Staff Sargent in time to participate in the "Battle of the Bulge." By the end of his tour of duty he and 6 others were the only soldiers to survive of the original platoon. He was Honorably discharged from military service with 2 " Purple Hearts." He lived a long wonderful life and passed at the age of 95 on memorial day. On November 5th 2013 he was laid to rest next his wife at Arlington National Cemetary.
