To my Dearest Grandfather George E. Dill you are so loved by so many Rest in Peace.
George E. Dill | Visit Guest Book


George E. Dill George Elbert Dill, 92, of Marion died Tuesday, May 31, 2011. A memorial service will be held this summer. He was born May 4, 1919, in Medway, Mass., son of the late Vaughan Collins and Anna Burce Dill. He graduated from Medway High School in 1938. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 90th Army known as "Patton's Tough Hombre Division" 359th Regiment, Co G. While attached to headquarters at the end of the war, he was chosen to deliver the surrender papers to the German Camp. He was a member of the Medway VFW and the Fort Chiswell Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Dill; and two sisters, Myrtis Staples and Catherine McNeil. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Odessa Cameron Dill of Max Meadows; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Dill of Max Meadows; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jerome Dill of Max Meadows, Ronald Dill of Bellington, Mass., Leona Dill of Norton, Mass., Vaughan and Virginia Dill of Spring Hill, Fla., and Edward and Kathleen Dill of Bellingham, Mass.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Constance Dill and Suzanne Dill, both of Max Meadows, and Margie and Lance Payne of Milford, Mass.; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
