This remembrance is for my Dad, Norman E. Spooner who served in the Army during WW II, and died April 6, 2011. I was about 6 months old when he left, and I was over 3 years old when he saw me again. I don't remember when he left, but I remember so well when my Dad, along with other military men got off the train at the St. Paul, Minnesota depot. People were crying for joy to once again have their loved ones home. I remember he gave me a whole box of Dentyne gum, I could hardly believe it!
Thanks for doing your part Dad, for your willingness to leave a young wife, and infant to serve your country, I know it must have been extremely difficult. Now rest in peace.
