I felt a personal touch with greatness on September 15, 1995 when I was given an autographed copy of “Return with Honor” personally signed by the Colonel, The Viking and George Jr. It should be required reading for anyone entering the military or politics. We will be forever indebted to the Colonel because of the leadership qualities he demonstrated and the inspiration he will provide to our future leaders. His example of leadership will do much to keep his beloved country strong. As another great military leader once said “…we should thank God that such men lived”. We are forever grateful for the support our nation has received from Colonel Day and his beloved family
God Bless

A true hero has been lost. This man and many like him have given us the freedoms that we all enjoy through their sacrifices. The Bible says this - Greater love has no man than this, that he should lay down his life for his friends. Thank you Bud. You are a great American.

I never knew Colonel Day. I have, however, read of his courage as a POW. America has lost a great hero.

Col Day was one of the finest and most sincere men I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and talking with. His devotion to this country is evident in all he did and all he endured. Sir, we will meet again some day. Thank you for all you have done in service to our country and in service to all other veterans.
