As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by God, also by the words in the Bible at Philemon 4-7 along with the support and love of your family and friends.

The first time I walked into Jerry's class, I knew I was home. No matter what odd idea I brought to him, he could show me a technique that made my idea sing. He gave me confidence in myself and in my art. I'll miss him every time I look at his little fortune cookie painting in my studio, "Your love of detail is both a blessing and a curse." My blessing was in knowing him. Que te duermes con los angelitos.

Condolences to the families and friends of Mr. Hodges. Just reading the thoughts about him made me wish I was old enough back in the 70's to have experience his teaching. He sound like he was a very talent, compassionate and excellent teacher to many. Something definitely to be proud of.May you throw all your burdens on Jehovah and He will sustain you all.

It is hard to imagine how different my life would have been had I not been accepted into the Medical Illustration program at Michigan with Professor Hodge. What an incredible experience those two and a half years were and what wonderful memories I have of that time. The faculty and program directed by Jerry was exceptional. Standing over his shoulder while he demonstrated his pen and ink and carbon dust techniques was something I'll never forget. He made it look so easy. The training and course work was rigorous but when you left the program, you were well prepared to meet the challenges of being a professional medical illustrator. May you rest in peace knowing you left a significant mark on this world. You will always be remembered by those of us you taught. My condolences to Professor Hodge's family.

Although I did not follow through on my original intent of Medical Illustration, he was the reason I attended the University of Michigan. My gratitude abounds.

I cherish the time that I watched this awesome illustrator at the 2010 GNSI conference in Raleigh, NC. He was indeed a passionate teacher, always sharing! "O C" Carlisle, Athens, GA
