Gen Schwarzkopf you will be truly missed. My brother (Smitty) was your Enlisted-Aide at Ft. Stewart, GA, Ft. Lewis, WA and at DCOPS. Sir when my wife and I married we were allowed to stay at your guest quarters on Ft. Stewart for a brief honeymoon. When we first met you, you were an imposing figure, but gentle as a "Bear". Even though I was an E-5 at the time you made me feel like I was equal to you. You took the time to find out about me as a person. You were compassionate and caring. I still have the picture you signed for me prior to departing for Korea. To the family, hope you'll find comfort in his life. He'll be truly missed. (Smitty's younger brother)
