I ran Jefferson House for two years and got to know his late brother George fairly well. Then I ran Washington House (now Gomer Jones House) in the 1973-1974 year, got to know many of the great players on that OU. Steve was a goid guy, never a problem, which isn't something i can say about all of them. I was in the stands when they lost to KU, it wasn't until the 4th quarter we began to think we'd lose the game which ended the long winning streak. He was always classy and represented OU so well.
