YORK Rafael Escobar, Jr., 66, transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Manor Care North. He was the husband of Charlotte (Lowman) Escobar with whom they celebrated 40 years of marriage. Rafael was born in Harlem, N.Y. on May 1, 1948, to Mary Pinto and the late Rafael Escobar, Sr. Rafael was a teacher and earned two Master's Degrees in Education and he was a Veteran of the United States Navy. In Ralph's spare time, he enjoyed raising pigeons, reading and watching DVDs. In addition to his loving wife Charlotte, he leaves to cherish his memories, three sons, Ernest Che Escobar, David Michael Escobar and Joseph Gabriel Escobar; a daughter, Angela Rica Hawkins; a brother, Robert Escobar; three grandchildren, Lilliana, Ella and Lilah; and a host of other family members and friends. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Boulding Mortuary Inc., 471 Madison Ave., York, PA 17404 from 6 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 231 S. Beaver St., York, PA 17403. Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be prior and at the convenience of the family. I had the pleasure of working for a company that did work for Mr.Escobar on his home over the years.It was a great joy speaking to him on a regular basis.He was a very honest,trust worthy and friendly man that will be missed.God bless

I am saddened to hear of his passing. My condolences to the family. Mr. Escobar was a friend and a support to me in my first year as a new teacher. He was truly a kindhearted person and devoted to his students.

I am extremely grateful to have known Mr. Escobar. He was one of a kind and will be missed dearly. He shared life lesson with me as a young teen that molded me into the person I am today. He left a profound impression on me that will be passed along to my children and other generations to come.
