I wish to commemorate my colleague and friend of many years in the U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps. He is especially remembered as a "port of calm" in the turbulent years of a raging hostile conspiracy waged during our assignments in Yorktown VA. George is deeply loved by all those who were touched by his wise and faithful pastoral care.

A man that will be missed my many! I worked for the Coast Guard when Chaplain Hummer was stationed at Reserve Training Center Yorktown. What a wonderful, caring man who always made time for everyone. Rest in peace, Padre.

We were so thankful to have known
Rev Hummer not only as our pastor but a friend over the years. It was so nice seeing Rev Hummer and Helen at many of Beierle Reunions. I remember as a little girl going to school with Steve and also playing with Romaine. I was accidentally left at the church after one of my sister's weddings. Had gone to the parsonage with Romaine. I believe Rev Hummer took me home. I remember your family visiting us and Mrs Hummer you'd play the piano and we'd all sing together. Thankful you were at our beloved Mother's funeral service in 2006 with Rev Hummer as one of the presiding ministers. Our prayers to your family at this time. Bless Be The Tie That Binds-- our Faith in Christ. May knowing Rev Hummer is with His Savior and that we will all be together one day sustain you during this time.

We met the Hummers in 1959. He performed four weddings for our immediate family. We kept in touch because of their attendance at our family reunion. He will be missed but we hope to see Mrs Hummer who is such a fine lady.
