Bill always spoke highly of Don as they worked at McCrory's during some of the same time period. So while I was not personally well acquainted with Don, our husbands knew each other well and enjoyed the company of each other. After hearing today some highlights of Don's life, I understand why they liked each other; both strong men of faith, both men of kind and generous hearts, and both men that were non-judgmental of other people, both thoughtful and caring of other people and who would help whenever they could. I wager they have found each other and are renewing their acquaintanceship with joyous reunion.
Worked with Don many years at McCrory. Sympathy to all of the family.
I am so sorry for your loss Alan & Irene. I wish I would be able to attend his funeral service on Monday to offer my condolences in person but Mondays schedule will not allow. I will always be grateful for the help Don gave when I was unemployed. He is a good man and I am sure he is in a better place. I will continue Praying for all of you. God Bless
We are so sorry for your loss Irene. We will always remember that guy who came to our yard sales. He loved yard sales and bargaining. Rest in Peace Don. Take care Irene and family.
I did not know any of you, but knew your dad, brother and husband well. I was a good friend and spent many happy hours with Don's family during my High School days. They were wonderful people and Don's life is evident of that. The last time I saw Don was at Bill and Gerry's Wedding Anniversary Celebration. To my great surprise, I learned that he had become a Christian and his eyes shown with the love of Christ. We had a wonderful time sharing memories of the past and the joys of his life today. He cherished his family and I am sure will be so missed by all of you. I send my love and prayers to all of you in your time of loss. I rejoice with you, that Don is no longer suffering in this human life but now experiencing eternal Joy and Life with Christ.
I pray God's Blessing on all of you,
Vilma Nester Coken (known by the Bonsell family, as Nestles)
May God grant you peace and strength at this time.
