My condolences to Joan,Jack,Jane,Jamie & Jan. Your mother was always a sweetie to me and didn't seem to mind having extra kids hanging out at her house. Your house was my refuge from a big family for awhile (10 siblings). Jan you did a super job on writing this obit. Jane thanks for being my good friend and getting me through that year in bed and catching me up on everything that happened each day at school. Your mom & dad produced some awesome kids. Thanks Jeanne and Dad!
Please accept my condolences to all of you who loved her. I'm sure I am one of your mom's secret pals. I met Jeanne in a healthfood store where we all knew her as the ginger candy lady. What a fascinating and intellegent lady, I knew this even before I read her obit. Please know she impacted many who met her in a charming and delightful manner and will be missed by us all.
Wow - What an incredible woman. Her obituary is amazing. I wish I would have had the pleasure of meeting Jeanne Hogue Recht and going on one of her adventures with her. I hope she is going on adventures in Heaven. I'm sure she will be missed.

Dear Jeanne Hogue Recht,
Your beautifully written obituary should be cut out and hung on the wall and read daily. You lived life to the fullest. You obviously inspired many - even those of us who have only met you through this small write up in the paper - after your passing. I only hope you are able to ride that mattress down that stairway to heaven - shouting a loud "YAHOOOO!" all the way down until those tired angels carry you back up to the top saying, "What have we gotten ourselves into?" I do wish I had known you. My sympathies to your family. May your delightful spirit live on in each of them.
I think all of us should be a little complicated like your Mother. I truly wish I would have known her. What a breath of fresh air she must have been. May God bless you all...you had the best part of her.
Only a remarkable woman could inspire such a remarkable obituary. It conveys her LIFE, not her accomplishments -- there is a difference. Thank you for sharing your mother's life with us, that we may be motivated to truly LIVE, as she did.

Thank you for taking the time to write and share your thoughts. Apparently, my mother can make friends as easily in death as she did in life. I'm glad I could capture some of her and share her with you.
I don't know you but applaud you for writing the story you did, we never know what adventures others walk thru,good or bad, and bravo for you for the ending, money doesn't buy happiness, and that person will answer, just keep close all your memories
