Joe and family, We are so sorry for your loss. Mary was such a sweet lady. I am glad we had the pleasure of knowing her.
Dear Joe and Family, I am so sorry to hear about Mary. What a wonderful lady!
Her sense of humor, and what an inspiration to all. I think of her and I remember her telling me,about her and her girl friend and the red hat society trips...especially the one to Vegas, and the person who touched her pretty hair.. and she always shared with me the latest 'grandson' joke....
I met you and Mary back in the early 70's. Which led me to many happy memories, visits, laughing and talking in your kitchen. I was so sorry Joe we lost touch 3 years ago..that was the last Christmas card I got from you both. I know you misplaced my new address, as when I sent a note, they never came back to me. I retired and moved, then Mother got worse. Little did I know, when I *finally* found out where you both were, it would be such a sad day.
Why this is even more of a shock to me, the day Mary passed, my mother was admitted in the room across from her that noon. Mother was on the assisted living side this whole time. I could have been visiting Mary!! I did not know! So when I saw your mothers name, I told the girl our story. She told me what a blessing your mother was to have there, she checked and your mother was resting and I said I will be so glad to see her when I get back this evening. I am so so sorry, as you all had just left, when I arrived. What mixed emotions i had. Even though my mother is in her own little world, she got an extra big hug, there were tears of joy I still have her to hug, but tears of sadness, for all of you. There is a part of Mother already resting with Jesus.
I posted the quote/picture of memories. Your mothers smile and humor is how she is remembered. And her love for all of you kids/grandkids. Ann, I am so sorry I never thought to contact you, to find out how your mother was or where your parents were. And to think only a hallway seperated our mothers all this time. Then for a few hours, just next door. Jane Maddox
Joe, i am so sorry I couldn't get to Mary's funeral. I wanted to tell you how much I always admired her. I am sure you will all miss her so much. Olive Padden

I had a closer connection to you than anyone else in my life and you were the most amazing grama ever, From the many many days and nights I spent with you and grampa as a child raising me, to the diners we had with my friends and girlfriends throught high school, you never ever got mad at me or yelled at me or told me you were disappointed in me or judged me all you did was love me unconditionally b/c that's the kind of wonderful person you were. I hope you've found peace because you deserve an eternity of peace and happiness. Love you and miss you always<3

To Mary's family,
Please accept my deepest sympathies at this time. Mary was a sweet lady and I will miss her. I will never forget Miss Hollywood. :-)
Ann I am so sorry for your loss. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Now you have a special angel to watch over you always.
To Mary's Family,
As an extraordinary minister of communion I enjoyed visits of friendship and fellowship with your mother. She was an engaging conversationalist with the most infectious laugh. Her keen sense of comedic timing in her ability to deliver a joke with such precision could brighten the darkest of days.
At times your father Joe would be visiting Mary upon my arrival. I certainly loved this gift of his presence because he would also partake in prayer and the Eucharist with your Mom.
It was an honor and a privilege for me to be able to say these very words to your parents upon their consumption of the Host,
"MARY AND JOSEPH, THE BODY OF CHRIST"
How beautiful and humbling .
Your Mother loved all of you so very much. She often talked about her famous "Raisin Cake" that she prepared for all of you, and that it never lasted very long between all of you children and your many friends And she promised me the recipe! :-)
We also enjoyed reflecting upon her many travels and the evidence of her incredible "spoon collection" from these destinations was a fun and visual delight.
She often reflected upon her carpooling days with all of you and your friends as the best days of her life! What a terrific mom, as she was focused on the gift of family.
May you find great comfort in knowing that your beloved Mother Mary, is now in the embrace of our HEAVENLY MOTHER MARY....JOSEPH....
AND THE BODY OF +CHRIST JESUS! ...INDEED!
