Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Co.
Shelly, Paul, Elaine and all your family may you find peace is such a tragedy. I remember the strength Rodney shared as we both prepared to speak and lay my nephew ,Zac, to rest just a short time ago. Another special man has gone home to his Lord.
I knew Rodney from working at K&M Home Center for many years during and after college. He always came in with a smile on his face and was easy to talk to. I considered him a friend although I did not know him personally, just as a customer at work. I could always tell when he had been at a fire call -- he would sometimes come in with his coat on and smelling like a fireplace or burnt wood. It's a distinct memory I have of him and was how I first realized he was a fireman.
I was shocked and saddened to see the news that he had passed away. My prayers are with his family and others. Our community has lost a great servant and leader.
To Michelle and the rest of the Miller Family i wish to wish you all the best in this time of sorrow. Being a 30 plus year active member I had a lot of contact with Rodney. I remember the first time he came to the company and i watched him become the great fire Chief that he was but i also knew he was a wonderful person from the first time i met him. For all of us that had the honor to know Rodney we will never forget him and cherish his friendship. My prayers are with you Shelly now and in the futhure
To the Family and the Loganville FD family:
I did not know Rodney or his family. With all the publicity about this tragedy via newspapers and Facebook, I feel like I DID know him. Please know that there are many "strangers" such as myself who mourn your loss. You are not alone. ( Years ago I was involved with Ambulance 59 before moving to Baltimore in 1981)
My you rest in peace. God bless your family an all your fire buddy's you will be missed dearly.

Dear Family and Friends of Rodney P. Miller,
Rodney did two home improvement jobs for my husband, Dave, and I a few years ago. The second job he did for us (because we were so impressed with his first job!) was install new French doors between our living room and kitchen. Rodney's work was absolutely amazing! He was always "on time," "meticulous in his craftsmanship," and "extremely professional!"
The first job Rodney did for us was replace our old gutters in the front of our house. Dave and I will never forget, that, after agreeing to do the job, Rodney mentioned that if he received a "fire call" while his work was in progress, he would have to leave immediately --- and that is exactly what happened!
That made quite an impression on us and speaks to how very much Rodney's public service meant to him! We will miss you, Rodney! May you find Peace, Comfort, and Joy in God's Loving Arms!
Barb and Dave Tosi
Shelley, Gary and Family.
My deepest condolences to you all. Rodney has definitely touched many peoples hearts. God Bless you all. He will be missed.
Rodney will always be remembered as the Chief of Loganville Fire Company for years to come. R.I.P
I have so many wonderful memories to hold dear to my heart and so many things to thank him for, but above all for being a "brother" to Trent. Rodney and Trent were like two peas in a pod. They sure gave us a lot of laughs, and oh how they would both stick together when they would gang up on us. I can't put into words what he meant to us...to simply state it...nothing we do in our lives will ever be the same! Trent and I love you so much and will continue to hold you close.
Hunt on Cranium, even with your golden horseshoe. You have wonderful company in heaven...Scott, Troy and Zac...I don't have to tell you to give them a big hug - I already know you that did!!
May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
R.I.P Rodney Miller you will be missed by everyone I will not forget the time we had at loganville fire co. Prayers to the miller family
Michelle, Rodney touched our lives many years ago when he spent the summer building our pool deck. He tault our children how to build along the way. He became part of our lives Even our dog, Bridgett became very attached to him. He will be so sorely missed. Our loss has been heaven's gain. My heart goes out to you. Rodney was so proud of his work that he brought his parents to see his deck. You are certainly welcome anytime. 6573 Stelrz rd glen rock. If it helps to be near his handiwork, we would be honored to have you here. Jackie and Mark Norris

Paul and Elaine.....my prayers are with you and your family during this extremely difficult time.
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Prayers for your family and friends to find comfort.
Brother when you weep for me
remember that it was meant to be
Lay me down and when you leave
Remember I'll be at your sleeve
In every dark and choking hall
I'll be there as you slowly crawl
On every roof in driving snow
Ill hold your coat and you will know
In cellars hot with searing heat
At windows where a gate you meet
In closets where young children hide
You know I'll be there at your side
The house from which I now respond
Is overstaffed with heroes gone
Men who answered one last bell
Did the job and did it well
As firemen we understand
That death's a card dealt in our hand
A card we hope we never play
But one we hold there anyway
That card is something we ignore
As we crawl across a weakened floor
For we know that we're the only prayer
For anyone that might be there
So remember as you wipe your tears
The joy I knew throughout the years
As I did the job I loved to do I pray that thought will see you through

The loss of this man is greater and stronger than words can express. The Hillegass family will grieve alongside the Millers' forever. May everyone pray that God grants this family the strength to merely “manage” this pain. Because nothing will ever heal it.
Paul Jr & Christine Hillegass
Hymm to the Fallen Heros
Young and aged
volunteer and career,
man and woman
of all races and colors,
you left aching hearts behind
An eternal flame
warms your names
inscribed on cold, lifeless plaques
around this stone cairn
In the hearts you left behind
your memories abide
in undying gratitude
You asked nothing more
You knew the risks,
served without fear
and paid the highest price
You embody a quality
of which many only dream
Your selfesness for others
is now your eternal crown
O fallen comrades,
give us all this quality
that we may more fittingly
prolong your memory
