Kenneth L. Rakestraw

YORK Kenneth L. "Rakey" Rakestraw, 80, enterted eternal rest with Christ Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Maryann A. (Krieg) Rakestraw for 60 years. A viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Dennis Klemash OFM Cap. as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, is assisting the family. Mr. Rakestraw was born August 26, 1932, in Emporium, the son of the late Norman and Agnes (Wallwork) Rakestraw. He ventured to York with Sylvania and retired from AMP, Inc. as a Tool and Die maker. Later he was employed at Sherwin-Williams Paint Store as a delivery driver. He was a 1950 graduate of Emporium High School and was a member of St. Joseph Church, the Victory AA, and the Hellam VFW Post. He was an avid Penn State fan and loved to play golf. Kenneth is survived by his wife; children, Karen Wilson and her husband, Christopher, Sharon Fager, Nancy Conley, Richard Rakestraw and his wife, Rebecca, Barbara Rakestraw, Susan Klinedinst and her husband, David, and Patricia Rausch; grandchildren, Stacey, Benjamin, Marcie, Jamie, Shane, Jessie, Keith, Kevin, Elizabeth, Mary, Danielle, Kacey, and Amanda; and 10 great-grandchildren.
