I first met Sam when he started with the Alaska Railroad as a Boiler Maker. He could do just about anything with a torch and a welding machine. He helped me with some body work on a couple of cars over the years and we had a lot of fun working together. He taught me a few thing about body work that have helped me a lot. My wife and I went overseas to work in the early ninety's, and we lost track of Sam and his family. We did talk once about a year ago, but that was the last. He was the most positive person that I have ever met. He will be missed by everyone that has ever known him.

I was stationed with Sam at Elmendorf in the late sixties and early seventies. Sam was one of the most positive and caring person that I have had the opportunity to call my friend. Sam will be missed by all who's lives he has touched. I remember Sam telling me he could weld anything except a broken heart and the crack dawn. You are now in good hands brother.
