My classmate and friend at Gordon-Conwell Seminary Theological!! He is missed!

As a shy 18 year old at Shippensburg University, I struggled through Speech class with Dr. Woodyard. I attended for a couple weeks before deciding never to go again. This wasn't a reflection of Dr. Woodyard's teaching ability, rather it was due to my immaturity. Despite my obvious failure, Dr. Woodyard was a supporting and nurturing educator. Over the next few years I would see him on and off campus and he'd buoyantly yell "Mr. Hartranft! The first kid I ever failed!" He'd shake my hand and ask what the h*ll was wrong with me. I have very few vivid memories of my college professors but I'll never forget Dr. Woodyard. Rest in peace, friend.

Brother, the quest for education and knowledge goes on. I miss the verbal debates, most important I miss you.

My professor in AA studies at Georgia State University. You kept it controversial and candid. People thought we looked alike. Nah...I had you beat in the handsome category. Honor and respect. You will be missed.
