Uncle Milt,
Thank you for the many great memories that I will hold dear always. You were a father figure to me and taught me many things as I grew older. You always took the time to teach, explain and work on many projects, from mowing grass, working on cars, washing cars and building models. As I grew older we took a boating course together, we studied the material together,passed the test then used the lessons learned to spend years boating on the bay. The hours spent solving the worlds problems while eating crabs that we caught always ended up with you making us all laugh. I will always remember your humor. A few things I always admired from you was the endless love for country, your service to country was important to you, however I will say it was more important to the country to have an Marine like you. Ooh Rah ! Thank you for your service. Another admirable trait I learned from you is that even though you held white collar jobs after duty to country you never lost yourself and remained a blue collar man at heart. Small things that many people never knew like when you talked to Bobby who was mentally challenged often as he took his walks. Even Bobby felt comfortable stopping in to see you, or the many phone calls you received from Heisey who just wanted someone to talk to. You always took the time to make everyone feel important. Over the past several years we talked about drafting and design, when I spoke to you about learning more about it, you shared your wealth of knowledge and once again you helped me learn but also gave me the confidence to take classes. When I received my drafting certification along with my Dale Carnegie training and award you were very proud. The fact is with out your support and reassurance I am not sure if I would have made the jump to learn drafting. Thank you
In closing I just want to say thank you for being you, the love you showed, the time you spent with me is something I will never forget. I love you, You are in peace now with the lord and I can see you and Maggie dog taking a walk in heaven together. The proud Marine and his tough and mean Marine Bulldog. I am just hoping you take her to dog obedience class so she don't bite me when its my time to join you. Thank you Uncle love always semper fi
From the Halls of Montezuma
To the Shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country's battles
In the air, on land and sea;
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
of United States Marine.
Our flag's unfurled to every breeze
From dawn to setting sun;
We have fought in every clime and place
Where we could take a gun;
In the snow of far-off Northern lands
And in sunny tropic scenes;
You will find us always on the job
The United States Marines.
Here's health to you and to our Corps
Which we are proud to serve
In many a strife we've fought for life
And never lost our nerve;
If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven's scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded
By United States Marines.
