THOMAS PARTNEY Obituary

October 7, 1916 - February 23, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Thomas I. Partney passed on to be with God February 23rd, 2014 in the Susanna Wesley Center at Epworth Villa at the age of 97. He was born October 7, 1916 in Woodbine, Texas to Mollie Warren Partney and Edward Franklin Partney. Edward Franklin died in 1927. His mother, he and his younger sister, Billie Ruth, moved to Edmond, OK. Tom graduated from high school in Edmond and attended Oklahoma A&M for two years. There he met and married Rosa Ann Atterberry in August of 1940. In Edmond he went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. In 1941 he was transferred to Clinton, OK as a telephone repair man. During this time he served in the Army in WW II. He then moved to Chandler, OK where he retired from Southwestern Bell in 1981. In Chandler he was active in the First Christian Church. He taught Sunday School 20 years and was elected elder, the youngest ever during his membership with the church. He was president of Rotary Club and wrote and printed their weekly bulletins. He also taught First Aid and CPR classes. Rosa died of cancer in 1984. In 1985 he married Hazel Doughtery. Tom was preceded in death by his parents: a sister, Billie Ruth; an infant son, Tommy Neal; his first wife, Rosa and his second wife, Hazel. He leaves behind two daughters, Nancy Partney and Karen Erwin; a son-in-law, Dan Alan Erwin; two grandsons, Dan Alan Erwin Jr. and John Thomas Erwin; also four great grandchildren, Vanessa Erwin, Sean Erwin, Alyssa Erwin, and Kyle Erwin; and his special "bonus daughters" Marcia Doughtery and Linda Mattison and a "bonus son-in-law"` Wayne Mattison and a much loved granddaughter-in-law, Marisela Erwin, as well as countless friends. Services are on March 22, 2014 at 2pm in Brill Chapel at Epworth Villa, 14901 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK.
