We had the great fortune to hear Dave Brubeck play a celebration mass at the Moscow Conservatory Great Hall in 1997. What an inspiration and a joy to hear both his classics and his new composition.

Had the true privilege of Executive Producing a television program starring Dave Brubeck with his friend Jerry Mulligan nearly two decades ago. While he was a consummate professional and truly unique super-talent, I recall the kindness and generosity of this fine gentleman. God Bless his family in their sorrow.

Our condolences to Iola and the Brubeck Family. Our family and many world wide jazz fans will miss the musical mastery of Dave. As our daughter Kim said in an LG phone message to us, "Godspeed" Dave.

First time I saw Dave was at the Klein Memorial in Bridgeport, CT in the late 50's. Seen Dave at Cape Cod, On the Green in New Haven, CT (free concert) in Westport, CT twice. The first time with Stan Getz & Paul Desmond. Stan & Paul played All the Things You Are. It blew me away and the second time with his sons. The last time I saw Dave was at Tanglewood Jazz Festival. Our seats were on the stage. He was just wonderful and so exciting to watch. I had a friend at work many years ago and she lived next door to Dave. I wanted her to invite me over when Dave was practicing so maybe I could hear him from an open window. That never happened, but I would imagine it. God Bless you and your family. Take Five is a masterpiece.
