It was a sad time for me to hear that "Zip" passed away. I have fond memories of his friendship and kindness during our undergraduate years at South Carolina State College in Orangeburg. Rest in Peace pilgrim -- your journey is done.

Aunt Punkin sorry for your loss Uncle Z will be greatly missed - I will never forget the fun times spent with the two of you and the "sock Puppet" :-) Lovingly submitted

It was my great honor to know Z. Blanding. He was instrumental in helping me start my college teaching career and always supported me. Z made a great difference in the world - a world which would be a much better place if we had more people like him.

So sorry for your loss. Dr. Blanding was one of the most wonderful bosses in the world and I feel blessed to have known him. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

When Z came to the Psychology Department at Rowan University, I had the pleasure of working with him for almost ten years. He was a remarkable man and left an everlasting impression on me. His schedule was always full and we would laugh when he would show me his calendar so I could try and find a time to schedule a meeting. He showed kindness and caring at all times - no matter how busy he was, he always had time to talk and help in any way possible. He talked about his daughter and son and was so proud of them. I wish I could think of the right words to express my gratitude for having known him. He loved teaching and will be remembered by many students.
