I will always remember Oscar as a sweet,gentle, smiling man, taking in all of us crazies at the Garcia parties.He will be missed at the parties but I am sure that wherever he is at, he is smiling his gentle smile on all of us who were lucky enough to know him. The most sincere condolences to your family from ours. I know how deeply the pain of losing a parent can run.
Oscar certainly lived in exciting times and achieved a great deal, from undergoing the hardship of depression and suffering the torments of WWII, to earning his doctorate, and moving to America, but most especially building and raising his family.

I have many fond memories of Oscar, most of which involved his good friend, Mario, my father. They were two very different men yet so similar in many ways. They shared a wonderful friendship.
Aside from being so dear to my father, Oscar was part of my family. The Zomaros love him and will miss him very much.

My heroes are people I personally know. People like my Dad, Mario, Fletch, Sean, and Oscar. They worked extremely hard their whole life and suffered greatly at times, but always persevered. They make my tough times seem trivial. Furthermore they all enriched my life in ways I can never repay.
My best friends are all directly linked to Oscar. So even though I did not know him well he is responsible for bringing great happiness into my life. I will always remember him and admire him.
