To the Sparks Family,
We were sorry to hear about your loss. Mike worked with Roland for many years when he was broadcasting UH games. Roland was always professional and kind and a positive influence on those he touched.

Dear Samantha, Brett and Kristin,
Roland was a great man. He was my boss at UH for four years and he was more than a boss he was a second father of sorts. I was in my early 20's and Roland was always there to direct me in the right direction. I wish for you to celebrate the life of a great man and hope you find peace with his passing. God Bless.

To the family of Roland Sparks: For many years I was responsible for my college's commencement ceremonies at UH, and one of my great joys in that duty was getting to work with Roland. He always brightened my day and I always looked forward to the opportunity to chat with him. May God give you peace during this time of great loss and sorrow.

I will remember the tall quiet man with the nicest smile on his face. He was a wonderful boss and was always there for me when I needed him the most. I will always remember Roland.

Samantha and family,
It was my priviledge to have known Roland even though the circumstances we met under were far from ideal. He'll always remain dear to all of us who have met him and my best memory is seeing both of you here every 2 weeks, Roland in his official "uniform" and he was not just # 01 on the study but number # 1 with us too.

Dear Samantha, and family,
I couldn't beleive that my good friend had passed away. I will always remember our fishing trip to the cut last winter. He was without pain while catching his 50+ inch fish. I will always remember the smile on my friend's face. He will be missed.
God bless,
Rod and Cheryl

Roland was one of the nicest men. He was my boss while I was a student at the University of Houston. I never saw a man who had such a strong balance of God, work and family. He will be strongly missed. My condolences.

Dear Ones,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn the loss of your
wonderful, caring and Christian
husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Roland and I worked together for several years at the University of Houston in the Athletic Department. What a tremendous asset he was to the University and to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
