Erma Lee Wren, age 61, Joplin, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at St. John's Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. Erma was born Dec. 20, 1947, to the late James Thomas Jones and Earlena Wilfong and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life. Erma was a homemaker. She married Michael E. Wren on July 19, 1985, in Miami, Okla. He survives at the home. Additional survivors include her children, Richard Points, Joplin, Marla Points, Baxter Springs, Kan., Tom Points, Joplin, and Joshua Points, Joplin; stepchildren, Gava Gaston, Joplin, Lisa Wren, New York, Shelley Wren, New York, John Wren, Joplin, Linda Wren, Neosho, and Misty Sims, Texas; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several step grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; seven sisters; and three brothers. Erma was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Joe Points; and a son, Nathan Points. Graveside services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Hornet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Parker Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Jones, Jericho Jones, Scottie Jones, Robert Fitzgerald, Dustin Lawson and Chester Kennell. knowing Aunt Erma she lived life to the fullest and will be missed by many. If somebody needed something that she could see a way to fix or take care of she would go out of her way to "get 'r' done". My condolences to the family and friends.
