Dorothy Little Obituary

RACINE - Dorothy A. Little, 87, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Friday, September 22, 2006. Dorothy was born in Wayne, Mich. on February 16, 1919, to Joseph and Agnes (nee: King) Kraudelt. Dorothy was united in marriage in Dearborn, Mich. on June 18, 1949, to Dr. William J. Little. She served as a Surgical Nurse during World War II, serving in North Africa, Italy, and France with the Army Nurse Corps. She was an organizer of the Future Nurse Club and was a volunteer with the Belle School, Red Cross, and Dial Harmony in Racine. Dorothy enjoyed playing bridge and gardening. She is survived by her husband, William J. Little M.D.; children, William J. Little III, Maryellen (Gary) Kammerer, Katherine Vollmer (Don Scott), and Barbara (Royce) Earnest; grandchildren, Jennifer Little, Nathaniel Vollmer, Matthew Vollmer, Michael Earnest, and Thomas Earnest; three great-grandchildren; sister, Iola Carrico; and brother, Ernest Kraudelt. Dorothy is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorial service for Dorothy will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 716 College Avenue, on Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at 7 p.m. with Rev. Steve Fringer officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of services. Memorials to Lincoln Lutheran Respite Service, Nurses Foundation of Racine, P.O. Box 323, Franksville, Wis. 53126; or First Presbyterian Church have been suggested. The family would like to thank the staff at Ridgewood Care Center 2 East and the volunteers at Respite Care for all of their kindness and compassion. Dr. Little & Family,
Mrs. Little was truely a friend of mine. I cannot thank her and her family enough for being so wonderful and kind to Nellie and my family for so many, many years. God bless her forever.
