Marion McCarty Obituary

Marion E. McCarty, 97, of Kansas City, KS, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at home. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS. Burial in Gardner Cemetery. Friends may call 1011 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Kansas City Hospice, 1625 W. 92nd St., Kansas City, MO 641149756. Marion was born April 22, 1906, in Gardner, KS, and had been a lifetime resident of the Kansas City area. She loved gardening and canning and at one time she had the biggest sunflowers in the Kansas City area, She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl McCarty and a son, Don Gorsline. She is survived by two children, Marilyn and her husband, Paul Yoker, Kansas City, KS, Karl and his wife, Carol McCarty, Lenexa, KS; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
