Steven Ford Obituary

Steven Harold Ford, 47, of Overland Park, KS, passed away March 10, 2004, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Steven was born September 5, 1956 in Council Bluffs, IA, the son of Harold B. and Margaret G. Morphis Ford. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Creighton University and was a member of the Kansas City Biermeisters. Brewing beer and making wine with his friends was his passion, besides spending time with family and friends. Steven was a sports enthusiast who served as a sports information director at several universities. He was employed by Southside Carpet. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Angie Ford of Grain Valley, MO; a sister and spouse, Neava Ford and Charlie Clark of Roeland Park, KS; nieces and nephews, Patrick and Melanie Ohler and family of Overland Park, KS, Julie Lindsay and family of Kansas City, KS, Lori and Mark Vanderwoude and family of Council Bluffs, IA, Rob and Tracy Hunter of Council Bluffs, IA, Zuzu, the invisible kitty, and many more family and friends. I first met Steve at the 1999 AHA NHC in Olathe, Kansas but it seems as if I knew him all my life. He was a faithful friend, selfless soul, & beer judge extraordinare! I'll never forget his 'Guilty Dog' grin. Here's to his memory. CHEERS!
