Delsie VanFossen Obituary

Delsie (Harmon) VanFossen, born Sep 9, 1933. Long time resident of Ellensburg went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 27th after a long struggle with dementia and colon-cancer.

Delsie was the youngest child of nine born to Henry and Mary Moore in Missouri. Adopted and raised by close family friends Ralph and Cora Green at age 4 when her mother passed away in childbirth. She loved being with her family, cooking great meals, telling jokes and slinging one-liners. Delsie was a collector of porcelain figurines and home interior, decorating her home with care and changing her interior with the change in seasons. She had a green-thumb and enjoyed her houseplants and fresh flowers. Her family and surroundings were her comfort and she loved to start her day with coffee at her kitchen table watching the sun over the mountains.

Survived by six children she raised with loving care; daughters Judy DeBoer and Rena McCollum; sons Larry (Sheryl) Harmon, Len (Michele) Harmon, and Dale Harmon; grandson Stephen Jones; and sister Nova Payne of Michigan. Loving Grandmother to 12 and Great-Grandmother to 17. Numerous close friends, nieces and nephews. A special thanks from the family to niece Tammy Handel and to Ida Harmon for their loving support and comfort in her final days.

Preceded in death by parents Henry and Mary Moore, Ralph and Cora Green; brothers Earl and Bob, sisters Elsie, Edna, Gladys, Opal, and Annie.

Remembrances in her name can be made to Royal Vista Nursing center in Ellensburg where she received kind, loving and compassionate care in her last weeks.

Cremation by Steward & Williams Tribute Center will be followed by a celebration of her life this spring when the wildflowers are in bloom.
