Vernon LeRoy Feezell, 72, passed quietly February 28, 2011 surrounded by family following an extended illness. He was born February 9, 1939, the only child of Virgil and Lois Feezell. He attended school and farmed in the Mabton, WA area. Following high school graduation he served in the Air Force. He owned and operated a wheat farm outside Mabton until 1972, moving to Las Vegas, NV, and later Longview, WA, prior to moving to Ellensburg in 1997. He also worked as a reserve police officer in Sunnyside and a security guard for Las Vegas casinos. He was a C.B. radio operator and went by the handle, Wheat Farmer. Vernon was known as an accomplished woodworker who gave many of his pieces to churches, hospitals, and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Anita; daughter Vicky Aubol, son-in-law Greg, and grandchildren, Joshua, Kevin, and Sarah. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Affordable Funeral Care is entrusted with arrangements.
