Marie Dey Obituary

DEY, Marie Known as Rosy the Riveter and Jack Pot Mary. Born March 12, 1901 in Minnesota, moved to West L.A. in 1942, worked at McDonnell Douglas Santa Monica building the DC 6-7 & 8 during World War II. Retired 1962 and collected pension for 46 years, Marie loved her home in West L.A. and passed on at Eisenhower Hospital.
Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 23, at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 W. Slauson, Culver City. Visitation at 8:30 a.m., Burial 10:45 a.m.

Good bye to a woman who literally symbolized the strength of women in their new roles in the work force. Her part as one of the images of Rosie the Riveter was an inspiration to many girls and is as important today as it was 65 years ago. Thank you for your beauty and strength, Marie.
