DANIELS, Frederick Gorden CWO (Retired) It is with great sadness that we announce that Fred passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Respected and honoured in the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Armed Forces for 29 years and the Public Service of Canada for 13 years. Fred was, above all, a good man, loving and beloved husband, devoted father and cherished grandfather. Fred will be sadly missed by his wife of 42 years, Sylvia (Moss), three daughters Lisa Simpson (Roy), Lori Marcantonio (Peter) and Wendy Hambrook (Al) and seven grandchildren who loved and adored him: Gina, Christina, Domenic, Dylan, Matthew, Derrick and Rachael. Fred is also survived by brothers Bernard, Ronald and Michael, and sisters Doreen, Janet and Jacqueline. Fred was a man so strong in his love of life and family and will be best remembered for the fine example he set for us to live life to the fullest. It is so difficult to say goodbye as we long to have those precious moments we had spent together last forever. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation for the excellent care and compassion provided by Dr. Hartwick and the dedicated nurses and staff in the ICU at the Ottawa General Hospital. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 1255 Walkley Road (east of Bank), Monday, October 25th, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 26th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service Wednesday, October 27th, to Holy Cross Parish, 685 Walkley Road, for Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Interment Hope Cemetery. In memory of Fred, donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated.
