Dear Pop-Pop Sam,
Although it has been almost a week since you passed..it feels like yesterday you were sitting here laughing and telling us your jokes!! You were such a loving, caring and happy man...I am sooo glad my kids got a chance to spend a great deal of time getting to know you!! I feel very blessed that you chose my birthday to pass on to a better life and now it will even have more meaning!! Hope you are reconnecting with Mom-Mom and all your family/friends... Samuel Relf, on July 22, 2010, of Barrington, formerly of Cherry Hill. Age 86. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie (nee Wilson). Loving father of Irene Garramone (Joe), Scott Relf (Jan) and Lisa Relf. Devoted grandfather of Danielle Straub, Nicole Wyatt (Glenn), Stephanie Rigney (Dan), Zachary and David Relf. Great-grandfather of Taylor and Brendan Straub, Zachary and Delaney Wyatt and Meghan and Mackenzie Rigney. Brother of the late Maureen Relf Ashworth and Stephen Relf. Dear uncle of Maureen Doll (nee Ashworth) and Steve Ashworth. Also survived by his dear friend Joy Rago. Mr. Relf served in the Royal British Navy from 1939 to 1945. He served on the HMS Duckworth as a Depth Charge man during World War II. Mr. Relf received the Medal for Federation of French War veterans, the Georgivs V Britt Award and the Royal Navy 1939-1945 Star. He also received the Atlantic Star, Africa Star, France and Germany Star, the Georgivs VI G Bromn Award, the Camden County Military Service Medal and the Royal British Legion Medal. Mr. Relf was a member and past president of the Royal British Legion Philadelphia Chapter. He was a member of the Order of the Masons, the Fellowship Degree of the Lindenwold, NJ Moose Lodge and DESA. There will be visitation from 6 to 8pm Wednesday eve at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.
